Body Construction
Nigella Stainless Steel Pressure Cookers body and lid are made from food-grade, 18/8, non-magnetic, superior stainless steel (AISI Grade 304). 304 Stainless Steel contains 18% Chromium and 8% Nickel for greater anti-corrosion resistance, and to better withstand the various acids found in many foods such as fruits, meats, milk, and vegetables. It is hence one of the best quality stainless steel grades used for making cooking utensils.
Heavy Duty Sandwich Bottom
The bottom of Nigella Pressure Cooker is its specialty. Sandwiched between two sheets of stainless steel is a thick core of aluminium. Aluminium is 9 times better conductor of heat than steel. This ensures heat spreads quickly and evenly thus avoiding hotspots and burning or sticking of food. The base is made of AISI Grade 430 magnetic stainless steel which is induction-friendly, and inside is made of anti-corrosion 304 steel.
Pressure Lock Mechanism
Nigella Pressure Cooker has pressure-lock mechanism. This means that when there is pressure inside the cooker, the lid will not get opened. The lid will thus be pressure-locked for your safety. Release the pressure completely to open the lid.
Perfect Sealing Lid Design
Inner lid Nigella Pressure Cookers handle bar is attached in a way to the lid that there is some extra space available for deliberate 'play' or movement. This ensures perfect sealing of the lid with the rim of the cooker body. Do not try to tighten the bar and remove this 'play' otherwise the cooker will not get locked properly.
